Terra

Unglazed stoneware exteriors paired with a smooth, food-safe glazed well — the clay body left honest and open to the hand.

The thinking

Earth, left visible

Terra begins where most tableware ends. The outside of every piece is left unglazed, so the fired clay body — its grain, its iron speckle, the faint memory of the potter’s fingertips — remains visible and, more importantly, touchable.

Inside, a single satin glaze is poured and rocked by hand until it settles into an even, food-safe well. The meeting line between raw and glazed is drawn by wrist and eye, never by machine, which is why no two Terra rims fall in exactly the same place.

Fired to 1,260°C in reduction, the range shifts across a narrow band of warm ochres and dusty clays. Placed together on a table, the variation reads as one considered palette rather than a set of mismatched pieces.
